Withdrawal/Refund Policy

If after registering for the PLACE you wish to withdraw from one or more tests for which you have registered, you must submit a Withdrawal/Refund Request Form on the Internet or send your completed Withdrawal/Refund Request Form to Evaluation Systems by U.S. mail or fax. This form must be received by 4:00 p.m. mountain time on the standard registration deadline. Refer to "Changing Your Registration" for information about how to submit the Withdrawal/Refund Request Form.

If you withdraw by the standard registration deadline, you will receive a refund of all test fees paid. The registration processing fee will not be refunded. Refunds will be issued approximately five weeks after the test date.

You may not withdraw your registration or receive a refund if you register during the emergency registration period. If you are absent from the test, you will not receive a refund or credit of any kind. (See the absentee policy in "Reporting to the Test Site.")

Payment Methods

The fees for Internet registration, telephone registration, and changes to registration made on the Internet must be paid using a credit card (MasterCard or VISA only) or a debit or check card that carries the MasterCard or VISA logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN). Bank cards without a MasterCard or VISA logo cannot be accepted. The merchant name that will appear on your credit card statement is "Eval Systems Test Fee."

The fees for registration by U.S. mail and other services requested by mail ("Additional Service Fees" in the table above) must be paid by cashier's check or money order; personal checks are not accepted. Cashier's checks and money orders must be made payable to Evaluation Systems in U.S. dollars. Please write the last five digits of your social security number on your payment. Do not send cash.

Payment Policies

An individual may take a test as many times as necessary to pass. Examinees who do not pass a test and wish to retake it may do so by completing the registration process again. If you register for a test that you have previously taken, you may be eligible for a $25 refund. If you took the test after June 2003 and are registering to take the same test at a subsequent administration, you will be eligible for this refund.

If you are registering by mail, you are required to pay the total amount due at the time of registration. A refund will be issued automatically if you are eligible. Your refund eligibility will be confirmed on your admission ticket. All refunds will be processed approximately three weeks after the test date. If you are registering on the Internet or by telephone, your previous registration will be confirmed during the registration process. If you are eligible, the amount you must pay will be adjusted to reflect the $25 refund.

If you register to retake a PLACE test before receiving your score report from the first test date, your eligibility for the $25 retake refund will not be affected. However, if you register to take the same test on multiple test dates and pass the test on the first test date, you will not be issued a refund for your additional registrations on the basis of your passing performance.

If, for any reason, your payment for a test date or test service does not clear (for example, if you dispute a credit card charge), you will have an outstanding balance with Evaluation Systems. In this case

The following additional policies apply to you when you have an outstanding balance with Evaluation Systems:

Any credits or refunds for which you may be eligible will be applied first to your outstanding debt, with any excess to be returned to you.
