PLACE PASSING REQUIREMENTS
An individual’s performance is evaluated against an established standard. The passing score for each test is established by the CDE and is based on the professional judgments and recommendations of Colorado educators.
All test results are reported as scaled scores. The scaled score is a combination of the number of scorable questions you answer correctly on the multiple-choice sections and the scores you receive on any performance assignments, converted to a scale from 100 to 300, with a score of 220 representing the passing score.
The Basic Skills test includes sections in reading, mathematics, and writing. Examinees will receive a separate score for each section of the Basic Skills test. For Basic Skills only, once a section has been passed, you do not need to retake that section.

Retaking the PLACE
There is no limit to the number of times you may retake any PLACE test. You should, however, identify your PLACE requirements as early as possible and carefully plan your schedule for taking the tests to allow time for retaking them, if necessary.
